Laura Schreeder Hubona, MA, LCSW, is a Chattanooga native. She graduated from Girls' Preparatory School and received her BA and MA in English from UTC. After the death of her mother in 1995, Laura decided to pursue a career where she could make a difference.

She received her MSW (Masters of Social Work) from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Social Work, which is ranked as one of the nation's top ten graduate programs in clinical social work. Since graduating as a Graduate Merit Scholar in the top 10 percent of her class, Laura has worked with adolescents and families in four different states. Laura is the founder of Psychological Alternatives.

Psychological Alternatives is licensed to treat patients in Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia and is credentialed to bill almost all forms of health insurance. The firm also provides cost-effective alternatives to individual treatment through "Ladies First, PLLC," a company which offers a collection of psychoeducational groups and retreats for women and girls.
